Planning construction around the monsoon

What to schedule before the rains, what can continue during them, and how we protect work in progress.

The monsoon doesn’t have to stop a project, but it changes what you can do on site.

Before the rains

Excavation and foundation work are best finished before the heavy rains begin. Open trenches fill with water and slow everything down.

During the monsoon

Work under a completed slab — masonry, services and some finishing — can usually continue. Concrete pours are scheduled around the forecast and protected while they cure.

After the rains

Exterior plaster, painting and waterproofing are easier once the walls have dried out.
